Privacy information

We aim to make The Legal Fennec useful without collecting more information than necessary. This page explains our optional website analytics and other third-party services.

Optional analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited, aggregate audience locations, how readers reach the website, and how visitors interact with our content. The Google Analytics measurement ID is G-PJPEL33JVQ.

Analytics is switched off unless you choose “Accept analytics”. If you reject, we do not load the Google Analytics script. You can change your choice using the “Privacy settings” link at the bottom of any page. Withdrawing consent stops future collection by this site; it cannot undo data previously transmitted.

When enabled, Google Analytics may process information about your browser or device, approximate location, pages viewed, interactions and online identifiers, and may use first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visits. These cookies may persist for up to two years subject to Google's settings and browser restrictions. Data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. For details, consult Google's Privacy Policy and Google Analytics data collection information.

Consent choices

Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage so that we do not ask on every visit. This preference is used only to remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics.

External services

The website is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may process technical requests needed to deliver pages. Some articles use Utterances, a comments feature linked to GitHub Issues. If you use the comments tool, GitHub's terms and privacy policy apply, and comments may be public. Please avoid sharing confidential information in comments.

External links may lead to services with their own privacy policies.

Contact and privacy requests

For questions about this publication or requests concerning information we control, use our contact page. If you collect information through a contact form or establish a dedicated editorial email address, this notice should be expanded to describe that processing.

Keeping this notice accurate

This is an initial privacy notice for a small independent publication. It should be reviewed to reflect actual analytics settings, hosting arrangements, contact channels, retention schedules, and applicable legal requirements. It is not a guarantee of regulatory compliance.
